Where to eat Sevilla: La Antigua. Abacería

An abacería in the past was a store that sold items like canned goods, dried beans, wine, cheese and olive oil. Now, abacerías can be found throughout Seville and sell many of the same items but customers can enjoy theses delicacies in a unique old store-like setting. They may have a place to heat foods but there is usually no kitchen.
La Antigua, located at Calle Pureza, 12, is one of my partner Pepe´s and my favorite places to get a wine and cheese in Triana. There is a cozy atmosphere and the owner and staff make you feel right at home.
The last time we went to La Antigua, I notice bottles of Finca la Torre and Supremo, two award winning Andalusian olive oils.
I spoke some time with the owner about his choices in olive oils. He expressed the importance of good products and was happy to know that I took time to notice and appreciated his detail to quality.
If you are in Triana, stop here, have a wine and order one of their simple tapas. Don’t forget to ask for a drizzle of their top olive oils.
